Hey yall, it's as year later, and Thanksgiving is a few days away. As always, it is a time for us to reflect, and give thanks to our God (or to no God, if that is your wish) for the blessings we have. I realize that there are tough times ahead, as there have been good people who have lost loved one, lost jobs, or simply lost hope.
I really do hope that our fellow Americans can, and will, find peace and solace in the coming year. I believe in God, that is MY solace...that is where I find peace. But I know that not everyone shares my beliefs and I DO realize that there are many who are not of the Christian faith. But I do believe that our fellow Americans have every right to worship their concept of God, or not worship at all.
This of course is not about faith, but simply about reflecting on what we DO have, and being thankful for those...blessings (honestly, I just don't know how else to say it). We will share a meal with our families and friends, and enjoy all the things that have become traditions.
But I beg you all to remember our fellow Americans who are not here. They are protecting us, even now, in Afgahnistan and Iraq, as well as military bases across the planet. They cannot be with those they love, and we should all remember them, and be grateful TO them, and be thankful for them...
We should also remember those who have fell to the way-side, yall. I think we should all remember those who, whether through their own fault, or no fault of their own have lost everything. Please remember that all to often children are involved, and they suffer, as their parents suffer. the least of us should always be in our minds, and in our hearts...God would have us do nothing less.
We have gone through a bruising political season, and we need to pray (if you do pray) for a national healing. This in my opinion, is going to be crucial in the coming days. we should pray, if that is your belief system, for our leaders to make good decisions (stop laughing...it could happen), and help America, and Americans to prosper and help those who need it most...the children and our Veterens.
I apologize for this rambling article, for I didn't plan on writing one. I just felt the need to say some things, and to wish you all a merry little Thanksgiving, and to pray for everyone to be happy, and be safe !!!
